
Sean O’Sullivan is co-founder and managing director of Avego, Ltd., a 55 person technology firm with offices in the United States, Ireland, and China. The company is a world leading company in transport technology. Sean is also managing director of SOSventures International, an investment management operation with returns averaging 27% over the past 15 years. He is also O’Sullivan traveled a founder of NetCentric, and Chinaccelerator.
His first company, MapInfo, grew to a $200 million public company with over 1,000 employees, and popularized street mapping on computers. Sean grew up as Computer programmer mastering 19 languages. After working for IBM-RTP, IBM-Boca Raton and DSA, he co-founded a rock band (JSF) and Sonic Recording Studios, As a filmmaker, he created the award-winning documentary film “String Worms at Budd Terrace” about dementia in the elderly.
While covering the war as a documentary filmmaker in Iraq during the period from March-May 2003, among the city’s decimated landmarks, burned-out buildings and looted warehouses; he realized that Iraq had both an enormous number of unemployed workers and an enormous amount of work to be done. Jump Start International was founded in 2003 in the aftermath of the war in Iraq which focuses on rebuilding and reconstruction in war-torn Iraq and in the Gaza Strip.
He received his Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Masters of Fine Arts in Film Production from the University of Southern California.
