Since then, Mr. Angel has been a founding member of a number of start-ups. His career is marked with terrific highs and radical lows; however, through it all he has remained positive and optimistic about the future. He has learned something every step of the way, which has made him a better businessman, smarter negotiator and stronger leader. He often says, “the only time you fail, is when you fail to learn”. Most recently, he founded Worthington Healthcare Corporation (WHC), a company formed to acquire and manage the medical software company he worked for the previous two years, MRecord. MRecord powers medical transcription, dictation automation and medical records management through a suite of proprietary software. In June 2009, WHC merged with WiSpots, an interactive media company that provides patient education and entertainment in the medical wait environment, to form WiFiciency. WiFiciency is a holding company that develops, acquires and manages cutting-edge software solutions for specialty medical practices, hospitals and other healthcare facilities. It offers a suite of physician and patient-centric software and hardware solutions that maximize profitability by reducing costs, improving productivity and generating additional revenue from the patient waiting room, while simultaneously improving patient satisfaction through education and entertainment. Mr. Angel serves as the President and COO of WiFiciency. He is primarily responsible for developing the organization’s infrastructure, which includes sales, marketing, partnerships, and recruiting top talent. Most recently his company was featured on ABC’s new reality show Shark Tank. While it did not provide his company with the capital required to fund their growth, it did provide national exposure to millions of potential clients and end users. Mr. Angel earned a BS in management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in 1996. While at RPI he played four years of baseball, and was captain of the team in his final two season helping lead the team to its first ever trip to the College World Series. He was also a member of Zeta Psi Fraternity and a frequent visitor to the establishment called Elda’s. He completed his MBA in e-business from the University of Phoenix. Mr. Angel plans to enroll in the fall 2010 at University of North Carolina where he will pursue a PHD in Health Leadership. Mr. Angel lives in Raleigh, NC with his wife Cheri and their three children, Marcus, Justin and Katelynn. He continues to play baseball in the Men’s Adult Baseball League and mentors youth players through his non-profit organization Triangle Association of Sports Development (TASD). |
